Personal data is information which can be used to identify you. It includes your name, address, postal address and telephone number. It does not include information which cannot be linked to your identity (such as number of users of the web special or intensity of use).
Disclosure and publication of personal data
You can use the web special without disclosing your identity. However, you must give your name if you wish to upload your own contributions to the web special, otherwise the function cannot be used. The data will also be used for prevention and monitoring purposes in relation to potential abuse.
When you use the “Send” function your name and your contribution will be published on the web special only. If you have chosen the “Send by Facebook” function, they will be published both on the web special and on Facebook. Depending on your Facebook settings, the contribution may, for example, be displayed in your Facebook profile. In addition to your name and your contribution, your Facebook profile picture will also be transferred to the web special.
Your personal data may also be disclosed when you use the “Recommend” function. An e-mail recommendation opens your e-mail editor only; we do not obtain any personal data. If you make a recommendation via Twitter or Facebook, we create a link to the relevant service. The name and URL of the web special are then passed to Twitter or Facebook. Again, we do not obtain any personal data when you use this option, but the information referred to above is linked with your profile on Twitter or Facebook.
Storage and processing of personal data
Any personal data which we collect and hold is stored on specially secured servers. Technical and organisational measures are in place to protect these servers against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution of your data by unauthorised persons. Only a small number of authorised people may access your data. These are people who are responsible for the technical, commercial and editorial management of the servers. All Claas employees are bound by an obligation of confidentiality. However, despite regular monitoring, it is impossible to provide complete protection against all risks.
Your personal information is transmitted via the internet without encryption. You should therefore carefully consider what information you wish to disclose when using the web special.
Use of personal data and transfer to third parties
Any data you provide when visiting the web special will be used within the web special only. Claas will not transfer your personal data to third parties, unless obliged to do so by a court order, an administrative ruling or a legal provision.
The information collected when you use the web special includes the IP address of the computer you are using. Under certain circumstances, it may be possible to identify users of the web special via the IP address. However, Claas will not analyse IP addresses in order to obtain this information. Any analysis of IP addresses will be carried out purely on a statistical basis in anonymised form.
Whenever you use the web special, access data are stored in a log file on the server. In addition to the IP address, the information collected includes, in particular, the time, status, data volume transmitted and the website from which you accessed the web special (referrer), together with information about the browser you are using. The log file is used for statistical analysis and to improve the web special. This may enable Claas to identify information such as your preferred language or possible errors, such as broken links. We will only create usage profiles under pseudonyms, unless you raise an objection to this. Usage profiles are never combined with your personal data.
